A few of my favorite things.....

(This post was written by Kayla, translated by Mommy)

Brushing my teeth by myself!

Eating my snacks while lounging on my chair, with my dog Stoli watching my every move

Wearing my UCLA gear

Having my first ever bite of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. YUMMY!

Reading with Grandma Quon and Uncle Mike! Especially my favorite Cinderella pop-up book that Auntie Susie gave me

Riding my Dora truck (thanks Uncle Adam and Auntie Sandra!)

Hanging out with my cousins, Grandpa and Grandma Martin (that's us at Halloween)

And most of all, just laughing with my family and being generally adorable!

Playing in the park

Kayla loves to play in the park on the jungle gym. She is fascinated by the sand, grass, slides, climbing, and swings! Here she is having a ball last weekend at our neighborhood park down the street.

Playing in the sand...must remember to keep wet wipes on hand at all times!

She loves to climb up and down the stairs

Sizing up another kid on the swings....

Having fun on the slide....WWHHHEEEE!

Time to go home!

No wonder everyone thinks Stoli is a girl

Look at the braids and bow the groomers put in his hair! He doesn't look too happy with it....

Happy Halloween x3!

As Kayla grows up she'll soon realize that she is one of the luckiest little kids around, as she has a doting grandma (Quon) who works at Disney. Fortunately, her parents already understand what a wonderful blessing this is. Free entrance into Disneyland, lots of clothes and toys with each visit, and at Halloween time, more costumes than we can handle!

So this year, Kayla got to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Minnie Mouse, AND Nemo! Nemo was just the house costume, it never made the cut to an actual Halloween outting. Greg and I thought it was a bit too hot given the weather and a bit too boyish, but really cute nonetheless.

Grandma and Grandpa Martin took Kayla to a special charity Halloween event at South Coast Plaza last Sunday. She was Minnie Mouse there, as well as at my work on Friday. Mattel is great because every year they let employees bring their kids to work, have a costume parade, and let kids trick or treat on each floor of our building. Some of the employees go all out, decorating, bringing in candy and treats, and even making mini 'haunted houses' in their areas. It's a lot of fun for everyone!

Here's Kayla getting candy at one of the candystations at my work

But perhaps my favorite costume was the one we almost didn't put on her because it looked too big. Thankfully, (maybe scarily, however) though not yet 17 months old, Kayla can already wear a size 2-3 in Disney costumes - yikes!

At night we went to Aunt Becky and Uncle Jeff's home down the street. Kayla was the only girl, and not too happy about it....

But then she figured, if you can't beat them, join them! Who says a princess can't have a lightsaber?

two busy weekends!

I'm finally catching up on some old happenings - the past two weekends were a whirlwind of activity! Last weekend Greg and I were up in the Bay Area for the wedding of our good friends, Nick and Deb. It was an absolute blast! Greg and I used the long weekend as an excuse for a quick getaway, which of course including shopping and good eating in the city.

But the obvious highlight was the wedding. Deb looked stunning, the ceremony was sweet, and the reception was a roaring good time, complete with great food, music, and company. One of the best weddings ever, and I'm so honored to have been asked to be in it!

For some reason it's as if I've forgotten how to take pictures of anything but Kayla, so I really am embarrassed to say I have very few pictures of the wedding - 2 to be exact. Fortunately they turned out okay. Must work on the picture taking in the future.

Here's me and Greg with the handsome couple

And again but this time with another bridesmaid, Angela

The weekend before we were fortunate enough to get to visit with a very good business school friend, Melissa, along with her husband Shuji and their 6 month old, Kyle. It was great fun comparing baby stories!

Bruin Victory!

Today I wore my UCLA shirt thinking the football team had a game today, even though they've been hard to watch as of late because we're usually fumbling, getting intercepted, or sacked. Greg saw my shirt and told me that in fact UCLA was off this week. I was about to change shirts but Greg reminded me that this would be a good day to wear it proudly because this is one of the few weekends when there was no way of us getting beaten! I don't know about you but I consider that a victory - YAY!

As Greg and I both went to UCLA, we are already preparing our future little Bruin by making her wear the correct gear
